Body Politics

from by Justin Guzzwell

Family portraits in a broken bottle
are watching through a POLLINATED EYE
breathing down my neck
taking cover in a palm read mantra
putting all expressive words away
cause I'm a little tense

Oh why, oh why, oh why
every morning
before breakfast, shaking unrest
So I'll, so I'll, so I'll
talk to my body

Touching kerosene to my lips
leaning over to spit shine all the heels
clicking down my neck
happens after every sex parade
I'm so concerned with setting myself straight
like bending cement
